Treatment Award 2015

15. April 2015

Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) and Telepool Zürich collaborate once again with ZFF to launch the third Treatment Award. Authors are invited to submit a feature-film treatment with a strong link to Switzerland on the theme of "The Switzerland of Tomorrow". The Treatment Competition award is endowed with a CHF 5000 cash prize. The winner also receives a screenplay development agreement worth up to CHF 25'000 for the creation of a feature-length cinema or TV film screenplay.

A jury comprising one SRF representative, one Telepool Zürich representative and an external expert judged the submitted treatments and announced the finalists on September 11, 2015. Those 5 entries who make it through to the final round are invited to attend the ZFF Master Class’s Script Day, at the end of which entrants pitch their treatments to the jury. The prize will be conferred during the Zurich Film Festival’s celebratory Award Night at the Zurich Opera House on October 3, 2015.

The Treatment Award was launched by SRF, Telepool Zürich and Zurich Film Festival to further reinforce their commitment to promoting domestic filmmaking. "Good screenplays are essential for making good films. It is for this reason that we wish to concentrate specifically on promoting screenwriting in Switzerland", says Urs Fitze, Head of Fiction at SRF. "We also want to discover fresh writing talent," adds Philippe van Doornick, Deputy Managing Director at Telepool Zürich, "with Swiss stories that also find international acceptance, such as 'Die Herbstzeitlosen'."

Authors can submit their text up to and including July 31, 2015. Terms and conditions for entry can be found at
