15 Corners of the World
The 82-year-old composer Eugeniusz Rudnik is a legend in electronic music circles. He is one of those passionate tinkerers and artists that could be found in the 1960s in Freiburg i.Br., in the radio studios of Cologne or, as is the case with him, in Warsaw. And he’s still creating music today with magnetic tape, scissors and sticky tape. This film does not simply illustrate, but creates beautiful visual trails that attract the eye via the ear – and returns it to the ear as heightened perception. In the beginning is nature, in the end is the eroticism of the body and voice: Along the way, this film utilizes archive material as it searches for and finds the warmth of the electronic sound. And maybe even its soul.
