Blanco, the "patron" of a factory making industrial scales, is under enormous pressure: he is desperate to win the local business award. Everything has to be perfect when the investigating commission arrives, but nothing goes according to plan. A vengeful ex-employee, a depressed supervisor and an overambitious intern who also has a crush on him make life difficult for Blanco. Despite all the obstacles, he does everything he can to win the competition – even if it means crossing moral boundaries. In the process, he unwittingly sets off a series of wild events. Director Fernando León de Aranoa's film delights as a tongue-in-cheek social satire starring Javier Bardem as a model boss who shamelessly manipulates the lives of his employees.
