by Clint Bentley Feature Film Competition

Life as a jockey has taken its toll on Jackson's body. Thanks to the prospect of a promising racehorse, the passionate professional rider is preparing with renewed hope for what will probably be his last season. Jackson's world is shaken one day when Gabriel, a young up-and-coming jockey, shows up at his house claiming to be his biological son. He reacts dismissively, but begins to wonder: what was there in his past - and what does the future still hold for him? In JOCKEY, director Clint Bentley succeeds in drawing a unique and authentic picture of the racing scene. With images of sublime beauty, his drama provides insight into a quintessentially American world.
