Das Zimmermädchen Lynn

by Ingo Haeb Focus Competition

No other chambermaid works as thoroughly as Lynn Zapatek. Everything in her world resolves almost obsessively around cleaning. When she’s not cleaning, Lynn likes to spend her time in the rooms with the hotel’s guests – only they have no idea that she’s there. She hides under their beds, listens to their conversations and even tries on their clothes. This shy thirty-year-old longs for nothing more than a little human contact. She wants to know what’s behind the lives of others, and how her own life could be. When Lynn one day bumps into call girl Chiara, who serves her customers in the hotel, she hatches an adventurous plan.
DAS ZIMMERMÄDCHEN LYNN is based on a novel bearing the same name by Markus Orth. With a great sense of nuance, Ingo Haeb lays open the deeply hidden fears – and dreams – of human beings in this, his debut feature film.
