Tore tanzt / Nothing Bad Can Happen

by Katrin Gebbe German Language Feature Film / Competition

What really happens when one turns the other cheek? Tore is a Jesus Freak and member of a religious group of punks squatting in a house and living under the doctrine of neighbourly love. When he comes to the aid of a chance acquaintance whose car has broken down, the naive teenager takes it as a sign from God. When Tore realises that not every 'brother' lives with his same strict beliefs, he leaves the commune and moves in with Benno and his family on an allotment plot. The lonely holy warrior initially feels embraced by his new surroundings, but the spontaneous friendship gradually turns torturous: Benno despises Tore’s unshakable faith and pushes him into an increasingly sadistic battle of wills. As the violence takes on ever more drastic proportions, Tore is faced with a difficult decision. TORE TANZT is an equally uncompromising and disturbing Passion narrative.
