La Mif / The Fam
"Who are you?" - "The Punk Queen in the Land of Assholes." Right from the get-go, the viewer is thrown into the middle of the hustle and bustle of a girls' home. Most of the residents come from broken homes and find a sense of security there that they didn't know before. The home's director, Lora, does everything she can to support her charges, but conflicts are inevitable in this wildly mixed surrogate family. For his authentic social drama, the director worked with residents and directors of a real home, with the girls either writing the script themselves or improvising. An uninhibited and impressive portrayal of young women who, despite their strokes of fate, brim with temperament and a hunger for life.
