Singer and guitarist Robert Beck once stood on stage in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans. Now in his late thirties, he stands in front of a group of bored school children as their music teacher. His sobering existence consists of unmotivated lesson preparations, chronic lateness and unannounced visits by his keyed up buddy Charlie. Rauli is probably the most unassuming of all his students, yet it is he of all people who shines a tiny ray of light back into Beck’s life. When the outsider picks up a guitar in the music room after a lesson one day, Beck immediately spots the youngster’s extraordinary talent. Not entirely selfless, Beck organises a concert, and begins writing songs for Rauli.
