El Motoarrebatador / The Snatch Thief
Miguel roars through the streets of Tucumán in the Argentine provinces on his motorbike. As a "Motochorro", he keeps his head above water by stealing valuables from random passers-by. But when he grabs the purse of the unsuspecting Elena as he shoots past her, she ends up seriously injured. Plagued by a guilty conscience, he visits her in hospital, where he finds her suffering from acute memory loss. Miguel draws up a plan: he pretends to be her subtenant – and moves in with her a short time later. Good for Miguel, who can ease his conscience by caring for the injured woman and secure a roof over his head at the same time. But how can Elena afford to live as a simple cleaning lady in her own house? Agustín Toscano's second work EL MOTOARREBATADOR is a multi-layered drama about the survival instinct and moral conscience of a country troubled by economic and social conflict.
