Cody is a street dog from Romania. Nobody truly knows what he went through, but now he is an integral part of the Skalsky’s family life. For Martin, the dog is not just a pet, but a free being with a story of its own. In search of a deeper understanding of Cody in particular and street dogs in general, the filmmaker embarks on a journey that takes him to Romania, England and Costa Rica. Where can dogs still roam in freedom when people are increasingly claiming their living space? And what rights do animals have? CODY – THE DOG DAYS ARE OVER is the touching and personal story of a formative friendship between humans and animals.
