Madame

by Amanda Sthers Gala Premieres

Having recently moved into an old-town Parisian apartment, two rich Americans – the self-centred perfectionist Anne and her husband, Bob – have invited twelve elitist guests to dinner. When Bob’s son turns up at short notice to make 13 guests around the table, the superstitious hostess has no choice but to ask the maid to join them. Visibly uncomfortable, Maria’s intention is to get through the evening as quickly as possible, but her mysterious appearance soon attracts the attention of British aristocrat David. A secret love affair begins, while Anne, for the sake of her family’s reputation, tries everything to prevent it. Director Amanda Sthers’ MADAME is a modern fairytale that allows Maria to conquer social boundaries. Pedro Almodovar’s Muse, Rossy de Palma, performs herself into the hearts of the audience.
