David can hardly believe it: no longer does he recognize his own son. Although he and his wife, Vicki, believe that they did everything right, their eldest child has become addicted to meth. Not even adult yet, Nic is already drifting from one high to the next spreading lies and deceit, refusing all offers of help from his parents. Oscillating between hope and powerlessness, David decides to help his son with all possible means to overcome his addiction. He just cannot and will not give up on the happy, beautiful boy he once knew. The latest work by director Felix van Groeningen traces the painful experiences of young Nic as sensitively as he portrays the untiring love of his father.
