by Lau Ho-leung Window: Hong Kong

Following a 16-year stretch in a Malaysian prison, Big F from Hong Kong has not let the bastards grind him down. With puffed-out chest, he returns to his hometown and gathers his old crew together for one last big heist. Johnnie T, an extravagant hair stylist, Crazy B, an Afro hair-wreck sporting, bowling alley something-or-other and East L, a half blind bus driver. Their brilliant (if a bit deranged) plan? Steal parts off of junker police vans, turn their minibus into a heist vehicle above the law, and rob corpses stuffed with cash that are being transported over the border. Sounds hilarious? It is! Screenplay sorcerer Lau Ho-Leung returns to the identity creating Hong Kong cinema of the 80s and 90s with his audacious directorial debut. Two thumbs up!
