The struggling four-part punk band ‘Ain’t No Rights’ tours the country penniless. Desperate for any gig, the four antifascist musicians have agreed to perform at a remote venue. Their first song (a rendition of the Dead Kennedy’s ‘Nazi Punks Fuck Off’) antagonises the predominantly shaved-headed audience, which is obviously more right wing than left. Having put on a halfway successful show, the punk quartet’s faux pas is forgiven. But backstage they witness a murder, something their neo-Nazi hosts are less thrilled about. Barricaded in the ‘Green Room’, a brutal game of life and death begins. Director Jeremy Saulnier skilfully combines genre and auteur film.
