He never made the big time. But Patón is nonetheless a full-blooded football pro and a local hero in his home city. Now in his mid thirties, he has captained his Argentine C division team Talleres de Escalada for years. When the hothead gets another red card and is banned from playing for eight matches, Patón realizes his career is coming to an end. He wants to plan a new chapter of his life with his partner, Ale, who supports him in everything he does. But this is no easy task for somebody who even sacrificed his school qualifications for football… Five years after GIGANTE, Adrian Biniez returns to ZFF with this atmospheric tragicomedy. On one hand, his focus in EL CINCO is on his protagonist Patón, who has to start from the very beginning at the age of 35. On the other hand, Biniez explores to what extent the footballer’s resignation influences, and enlivens his relationship with his wife.
