The United States Air Force officer Thomas Egan was always an ambitious pilot. Today he spends 8 hours a day in front of a computer making explosions and smoke clouds appear on his screen at the push of a button. But what looks like a computer game, is the reality of the American war on terror: Egan controls combat drones in the Middle East. He vents his frustrations at being exempt from physical service as a pilot on his girlfriend, and finds ever-increasing solace in the bottle. When Egan is ordered by the CIA to carry out instructions that have a questionable goal, he finds himself faced with a moral dilemma. With GOOD KILL, director Andrew Niccol broaches a highly controversial subject, and holds high the dangers of warfare by remote control for all to see.
