Part 1: Matchmaking
The first order of business is matching Swiss film producers and directors with experts in the field. Over 15 experienced filmmakers, consultants, advisors and financiers will sit at our matchmaking tables (story development, on-set practices, marketing and financing), give advice and answer questions. The matchmaking rounds will be in German. Upon registration.

In collaboration with the Zürcher Filmstiftung, the Zurich Film Festival is sending a signal pro children and family films. Together we set out to elevate the status of children films in the Swiss industry and launch the How to Kinderfilm format - an afternoon fully dedicated to the development, production and distribution of children and family films. The inaugural edition will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 during the 19th Zurich Film Festival.
Part 2 – Panel discussion
Following, four experts from the matchmaking – Ralph Etter (Screenwriter, Director and Filmkids Coach), Gerrit Hermanns (Screenwriter DAS FLIEGENDE KLASSENZIMMER), Dr. Rüdiger Hilmer (Dramatic Advisor, and Editor) and Stefanie Plattner (Director and Producer DIE (UN)LANGWEILIGSTE SCHULE DER WELT) will answer the question "What do children want to see?"
