Zurich Film Night
At the Zurich Film Festival, local filmmaking continues to impress – and the current momentum in Swiss cinema is thanks in no small part to Zurich’s vibrant film culture. For more than 20 years, the Zürcher Filmstiftung has helped shape this culture with successful productions that make an impact far beyond the city’s borders.
As part of the 22nd edition of the Zurich Film Festival, we will host the 16th Zurich Film Night on 29 September 2026, together with the Zürcher Filmstiftung, to highlight the economic and social importance of Zurich as a film hub. The film industry not only offers cultural value but also significant economic potential – supported by the public sector as a reliable partner.
The evening focused on the economic significance of Zurich as a film hub. It began with a welcome from Corine Mauch, followed by a discussion on film funding, impact, and opportunities, led by Herclin Bundi of the Zürcher Filmstiftung, as well as a talk by Flavio Gerber on the future of Swiss cinema. Guests then enjoyed an apéro riche before the evening concluded with a screening of WOLVES.
