The Young Gods play Petropolis

A spectacle of destruction: this documentary film by Peter Mettler takes us on a hypnotic flight over the oil sands of Canada – an oil reserve the size of England. A warning about the critical state of civilisation, it uses just sequences of associated images without dialogue to criticise man’s intervention in nature. The film primarily draws its impact from music. The band “The Young Gods” (founded in 1985) will re-score the film live for this special screening. These Swiss post-industrial icons like to experiment with musical ideas for films. A unique visual and acoustic experience!
