In 2010, the Iranian government issued the socially critical filmmaker Jafar Panahi with a long-term work and travel ban because of alleged treason. Luckily, a person like Panahi cannot be held back, and he continues to shoot films in secret. PARDÉ is the story of an author who hides with his dog, which according to the authorities he is not allowed to have, in a secluded house by the sea. One day, the two receive a visit from a mysterious young woman also on the run from the authorities. Then Panahi himself suddenly appears with his film crew and attempts to bring his characters under control. PARDÉ is a surprising and oppressive chamber play about persecution. The film won the award for best screenplay at the Berlinale.
