18-year-old Tracy has just arrived in New York, but her hopes of an exciting big city life are soon dashed when the budding author finds her first year of study pretty boring. However, her situation suddenly changes when she meets her future sister-in-law, Brooke, a 30-year-old phrasemonger who not only lives in Time Square, but also seems to make a success of everything she does. Brooke doesn’t have a career as such, but she does have her finger in many pies, be it as an interior decorator, aerobics instructor, social media expert or up-and-coming restaurateur. Together with her newfound friend, Tracy begins attending hip parties and discovers that Brooke seems to know everybody. But just as Tracy thinks she’s found the perfect inspiration for her own life, Brooke finds herself in a bit of a jam.
