After Spring

Ellen Martinez|DOK: Gesellschaft & Politik

It was intended to be nothing more than an intermediate station, however, around 80’000 people have been living at the ‘Zaatari’ camp in Jordan, close to the Syrian border for several years. They attempt to create a new, if only temporary, living environment for themselves in one of the world’s largest refugee camps. AFTER SPRING not only allows us insight into the painful histories of three families, but also tells of their daily struggles. We take a peek over the shoulder of tireless team leaders, volunteers and a martial arts instructor who teaches the kids in the camp unexpected things. AFTER SPRING offers unique insight into the running of a widely cited location, and gives the ‘refugee crisis’ a much-needed human face.
