Tonight, for the very first time, the award goes to an actor from South America to Wagner Moura, who is here tonight with a film I personally consider a masterpiece. » announced Festival Director Christian Jungen in his speech.

In his laudatory speech, Festival Director Christian spoke about his fascination with Noah Baumbach: «I think a cinephile, in a way, is a soulmate of a collector. You discover a film by a director, and for me the discovery of Noah Baumbach back in 2005 when I saw THE SQUID AND THE WHALE was really a revelation. And then you see this film, you remember the name Noah Baumbach, and you start watching the other films. »
In response to the tribute reel, Noah Baumbach reflected on his work to date. «They’re all challenging. I look at this and think, oh wow, I made all of these movies. But every new one is its own thing and its own adventure, and you start again as an amateur with each movie. »
