    Green wave, record number of women and many Hollywood stars

    The 15th Zurich Film Festival (Sept 26 to Oct 6) will feature over 170 films from 58 countries. Among them are more works by women directors than ever before. We further celebrate strong women with Cate Blanchett, Kristen Stewart and Julie Delpy. And the Hollywood stars Javier Bardem, Donald Sutherland, Roland Emmerich and Oliver Stone each head a ZFF Masters session.

    A Tribute to... Award to Director Roland Emmerich

    The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is delighted to announce that German director Roland Emmerich will be honored with this year’s A Tribute to...     ZFF to honour Kristen Stewart with Golden Eye Award

    Kirsten Stewart will receive the recipient of the Zurich Film Festival’s (ZFF) prestigious Golden Eye Award. Stewart will be in Zurich with director Benedict Andrews to celebrate her latest film SEBERG in which she plays the title character, Jean Seberg. The film receives its Swiss premiere on Wednesday October 2nd.

    Film about Bruno Manser Opens Festival

    BRUNO MANSER – DIE STIMME DES REGENWALDES, one of the year’s most anticipated films, will open the 15th Zurich Film Festival on September 26. The world premiere screening takes place in the presence of Swiss Federal President Ueli Maurer and the Mayor of Zurich Corine Mauch.

    Oliver Stone to be Jury President

    The three-time Oscar winner Oliver Stone will head the Jury of the 15th Zurich Film Festival’s International Competition. He will also present a restored version of the “The Doors” and his doc series “The Putin Interviews”. The other two juries are also top notch: the jury of the International Documentary Film Competition is chaired by two-time Oscar winning producer Simon Chinn, while German producer Thomas Kufus heads the jury of the Focus Competition.

    Finalists of the 8th Film Music Competition Announced

    Over 300 composers from 46 countries entered the 8th International Film Music Competition. Headed by the US American composer Don Davis, the Jury has now selected five compositions to take part in the final. The compositions will be world premiered by the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and followed immediately by the Award Ceremony and the Film Music Concert entitled BEYOND THE MATRIX.     Zurich Film Festival prepares succession planning

    In accordance with the long-term strategy of the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), Co-founders Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri are planning for their succession after 15 years of operational leadership.
