    Generali Switzerland to be New Main Partner of ZFF

    The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is looking forward to collaborating with Generali Switzerland as a new Main Partner for future editions. The global insurance provider joins the ranks from 2020 onwards of the festival’s current Main Partners Credit Suisse, Samsung and Mercedes-Benz.

    15th Zurich Film Festival closes with record number of visitors

    The 15th Zurich Film Festival, which closed this Sunday evening, attracted 117’000 visitors – that is an increase of 11 percent on last year. Co-Directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri said that the new record shows that the festival is now well-established in Switzerland and enjoys ever-increasing international appeal.

    Golden Icon Award to Cate Blanchett Main awards to SOUND OF METAL, COLLECTIVE and SYSTEMSPRENGER

    The main juries of the 15th Zurich Film Festival’s three competition categories have awarded their Golden Eyes to SOUND OF METAL by Darius Marder (International Feature Film), COLLECTIVE by Alexander Nanau (International Documentary Film) and SYSTEMSPRENGER by Nora Fingscheidt (Focus: Switzerland, Germany, Austria).     Zurich/Schaffhausen, 5 October 2019 –Acclaimed actor and producerCate Blanchett has presented the 5th Filmmaker Award. The award ceremony took place during the 15th Zurich Film Festival at an exclusive IWC Schaffhausen private dinner at rooftop restaurant Haute. The award, which is worth CHF 100,000, supports Swiss film projects that are in the production or post-production stage.     The composer Ching-Shan Chang wins the 8th International Music Film Competition. The Golden Eye will be awarded on Saturday evening at the Tonhalle Maag in Zurich.

    Variety to become Media Partner of Zurich Film Festival

    The leading voice in the global film industry will set up the “Variety Lounge @ Zurich Film Festival Presented by Credit Suisse” at this year’s Zurich Film Festival (ZFF). A dedicated team from Variety will use the Lounge to conduct interviews with filmmakers and ZFF award winners.

    Green wave, record number of women and many Hollywood stars

    The 15th Zurich Film Festival (Sept 26 to Oct 6) will feature over 170 films from 58 countries. Among them are more works by women directors than ever before. We further celebrate strong women with Cate Blanchett, Kristen Stewart and Julie Delpy. And the Hollywood stars Javier Bardem, Donald Sutherland, Roland Emmerich and Oliver Stone each head a ZFF Masters session.

    A Tribute to... Award to Director Roland Emmerich

    The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is delighted to announce that German director Roland Emmerich will be honored with this year’s A Tribute to...     ZFF to honour Kristen Stewart with Golden Eye Award

    Kirsten Stewart will receive the recipient of the Zurich Film Festival’s (ZFF) prestigious Golden Eye Award. Stewart will be in Zurich with director Benedict Andrews to celebrate her latest film SEBERG in which she plays the title character, Jean Seberg. The film receives its Swiss premiere on Wednesday October 2nd.
