    14th Zurich Film Festival a great success - First time more than 100’000 visitors

    The Zurich Film Festival remains on the road to success. Despite the sunny and warm autumn weather, viewers streamed into theatres morning, noon and night. With a total of 104’000 visitors (previous year: 98’300), ZFF has cracked the 100’000 mark for the first time.

    The awards of the 14th Zurich Film Festival

    Three entries from Switzerland win the awards of this year’s sixth ZFF 72 Film Contest. Chosen by a panel of experts, the Jury Award goes to THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACKS by Danay Gijzen.     7th International Film Music Competition: Golden Eye to Romanian composer Sebastian Androne-Nakanishi

    The Romanian composer Sebastian Androne-Nakanishi is the winner of the 7th International Film Music Competition, which took place during the Zurich Film Festival at the Tonhalle Maag on Thursday evening. Androne-Nakanishi takes home the Golden Eye for Best International Film Music 2018.

    First ZFF Award for Best Series to AQUÍ EN LA TIERRA - Golden Eye for ‘Best International Series’

    The Zurich Film Festival presented its first ever television series award on Saturday evening. The Golden Eye for Best International Series went to the Mexican production AQUÍ EN LA TIERRA by Gael Garcia Bernal, Kyzza Terrazas and Jorge Dorantes. The accolade is endowed with a CHF 10’000 cash prize.

    4th Filmmaker Award for BEAST - Hollywood Star Dev Patel Presents the Prestigious IWC Prize

    The 4th Filmmaker Award goes to Zurich-born producer Simon Hesse and director Lorenz Merz for their project BEAST. British actor Dev Patel presented the 4th Filmmaker Award during the exclusive IWC Private Dinner held as part of the 14th Zurich Film Festival. The award supports outstanding Swiss film projects that are at the production or post-production stage.

    Celebrity jurors for the three competition categories: Gabrielle Tana, Dick Fontaine and Barbara Albert as Jury Presidents
