    NZZ am Sonntag and Zurich Film Festival launch film magazine Frame

    The NZZ am Sonntag will collaborate with the Zurich Film Festival to launch the film magazine Frame in March. It will take a look behind the scenes of the film and entertainment industry, and provide in-depth reports about its most important players.

    Closing Figures

    The 9th Zurich Film Festival was a tremendous success. With a total of 71'000 visitors (previous year: 58'000), of these 4000 children and students, the festival has seen a more than 22% increase in viewer numbers. With 345 screenings (previous year 250) of 122 film titles (previous year: 111) and some 450 national and international guests (previous year: 350), the ZFF has once again experienced considerable growth.

    9th Zurich Film Festival Awards?

    The four juries of the 9th Zurich Film Festival competition categories have presented their respective main award, the Golden Eye, to Mexico (International Feature Film), Denmark (International Documentary Film), Germany (German-Language Feature Film) and Switzerland (German-Language Documentary Film).

    British Director Stephen Frears visits ZFF

    British director Stephen Frears visits Zurich today (Wednesday) as the ZFF’s guest. He will hold the presentation speech for producer Tim Bevan before handing him the Career Achievement Award. The ZFF will show his latest production ABOUT TIME from director Richard Curtis following the award ceremony.

    An Evening with Arthur Cohn - A collaboration with the ZFF

    Ringier AG and Schweizer Illustrierte in collaboration with the Zurich Film Festival present an evening dedicated to Arthur Cohn.     ZFF Honorary Guest Harrison Ford Leads ZFF Masters

    US star actor Harrison Ford, who is in Zurich on Friday and Saturday as the ZFF’s honorary guest, will lead a master class session on Saturday (5.10.) at 11:00am at the Filmpodium.     Second International Film Music Competition?

    French-born pianist and composer Laurant Courbier is the winner of the second International Film Music Competition, which took place during the 9th Zurich Film Festival on Friday evening at Arena Cinema 5. Courbier received the Golden Eye endowed with a 10'000 Swiss franc cash prize for the ‚Best International Film Music 2013’.

    The Big Opening of the 9th Zurich Film Festival

    The 9th Zurich Film Festival will roll out its Green Carpet this Thursday evening at 18:45 for 750 invited guests from far and wide, when it screens its opening film at 20:00 at the corso 1 cinema. The opening speeches will be held by the festival’s co-directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri, and Zurich’s Mayor Corine Mauch. Our honorary guest Federal Councillor and Culture Minister Alain Berset it this year’s keynote speaker.
