Alarmed by his wife's constant allusions to his age, the wealthy pensioner Alfie starts to panic: he quickly divorces his wife Helena to enjoy life at the side of nitwit call girl Charmaine. Helena seeks her salvation at a fortune-teller named Cristal and ends up with widower Jonathan. The couple's daughter, Sally, couldn't care less; she has enough problems of her own.
