Willkommen in Siegheilkirchen

Siegheilkirchen, a small town in the Austrian hinterland during the 1960s. From school to the regulars’ table to the town hall: the shots here are called by violence-loving bigots and randy old Nazis. The son of respectable innkeepers, known by everyone as “Rotzbueb”, struggles with the narrow-mindedness and proudly cultivated xenophobia of his home village. As an outlet for his frustrations, Rotzbueb uses his talent for drawing, to ridicule the authorities and entertain his classmates. But will he succeed and win the heart of his adored Mariolina? The satirical moral comedy pays homage to the Austrian caricaturist Manfred Deix, whose characters are brought to life through extraordinary animation and a great deal of humour.
