Wildlife

Paul Dano|Drama

Dark clouds of smoke are rising above the hills on the horizon. 14-year-old Joe is living with his parents in a sleepy little town in 1960s Montana. With injured pride after losing his job on the golf course, Jack, Joe’s father, unhesitatingly chooses to volunteer to help tackle the huge forest fire on the Canadian border – and thus escape his responsibilities. Joe and his mother, Jeanette, suddenly find themselves alone. While Joe slowly but surely has to grow into the role of an adult, Jeanette tries to keep the family afloat as a swimming instructor. In the course of the family’s new life, Jeanette meets car dealer Mr. Millers, and Joe must watch his parents' marriage slowly threaten to fall apart. Based on the novel of the same name by Richard Ford, WILDLIFE sees indie actor Paul Dano give his empathetic, extremely well staged directorial debut.
