“For some people, things go wrong before they even begin.” After her mother’s fatal car accident, 17-year-old Ida moves in with her aunt Bodil and her family. She hardly knows the matriarch and her three adult sons, but the intimate and caring environment quickly allows Ida to get used to her new surroundings. But she soon realises there is more behind this unconditional solidarity: Bodil and her sons are actually a band of criminals that follows its own rules and values. When Ida witnesses an unscrupulous and devastating incident, the question of loyalty is raised for everyone involved: how far is Ida willing to go for her family? Director Jeanette Nordahl’s feature film debut is a highly original thriller of the best Scandinavian kind.
