“If there’s something strange... in your neighbourhood... who you gonna call?” The title song to the box-office hit GHOSTBUSTERS is still a sensation in pop culture today. A massive hit in the 1980s, it brought the musician Ray Parker Jr. sudden international fame. Hardly anyone is aware, however, that he made his way from the streets of Detroit to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Growing up in a socially deprived area, Parker Jr. experienced the race riots of Detroit at first hand, before his career as a musician and songwriter took off alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones. HIRED GUN director Fran Strine dedicates his new documentary film to the incredible life story of a musical legend who has much more to offer than the GHOSTBUSTERS theme tune.
