Born to parents with modest means, the ambitious yuppie and stock market trader Bud Fox will do anything to make it to the top in Wall Street. He siezes his chance when he manages to make long-awaited contact with the corporate raider Gordon Gekko. Knowing all the tricks all the trade, the financial shark shows him how well illegally spied insider information pays off. From now on, Fox cooperates fully with his ruthless mentor – until his sinister associates become the cause of a fatality in his family. Fox changes sides in a bid for revenge and together with the exchange commission and police he manages to catch Gekko in a carefully set trap.
