A huge tree stands in the garden of Atli’s parents, which stops the sun from reaching their neighbour’s deck. The request by the overshadowed to the owner of the tree to take care of their monstrosity falls into the deep rift that has opened up between the two families. Atli, who has temporarily fled to his parental home after cheating on his wife, has problems of his own. His desperate attempts to contact his wife and their daughter are seen by their friends and family as threatening. While his socially questionable activities intensify, the bitter dispute between neighbours escalates – pets go missing, tyres are slashed and cameras installed. Director Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurðsson orchestrates the various elements of his third feature film to create a cinema experience bursting with tension and black humour.
