by Pedro Almodóvar
Ingrid (Julianne Moore), an art book author from New York, and Martha (Tilda Swinton), a war correspondent for the ‘New York Times’, have known each other for a long time, since they started out at the same magazine. Then they went their separate ways. Years later, the two women meet again – in an extreme and bittersweet situation. For his first English-language film, Pedro Almodovar has adapted the novel ‘What Are You Going Through’. A melodrama on female friendships with profound dialogues and two incredible leading actresses. The film received a 17-minute standing ovation in Venice.
