The Equalizer

Robert McCall has left his old life behind him. He even faked his own death to extinguish his existence as a task force undercover agent. He now lives an unassuming life working in a local hardware store. When he witnesses how the young prostitute Teri’s life is threatened by an ultra-violent Russian gangster, his devout Christian ethos forces him to return to his former profession. As The Equalizer, his task is to take on the plight of society’s helpless and assist those who have been left alone to face injustice and violence. This action thriller is based in part on the eponymous television series from the late 1980s. Director Antoine Fuqua has already worked successfully together with leading actor Denzel Washington in TRAINING DAY.
