Victorian London: eccentric painter Louis Wain cares for his five sisters and mother after the death of their father. While he tries his hand as a freelance artist, two events change his life: Meeting Emily, the love of his life, and adopting Peter, a stray kitten. They become both his family and his inspiration. Louis begins painting extraordinary cat pictures that make him famous beyond the borders of his homeland.
