The film tells the story of how the young and power-obsessed millionaire heir Donald Trump (Sebastian Stan) rose to become a real estate tycoon in New York in the 1970s and 1980s and learned the tactics he still uses today from his unscrupulous lawyer and mentor Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong): Never show weakness, never admit mistakes and always go full attack.
