On a densely populated hill in Mexico City lives intellectually impaired Tamara. Despite having a regular job in a cafe and taking care of her lizards and ladybirds, she is living a solitary life – until she comes across an abandoned child on the streets one day and, in a moment of impulsive recklessness, decides to take it home with her. Tamara soon discovers that looking after a child is not as easy as taking care of a pet. Luckily, Tamars’s older neighbour, Mrs Meche – another solitary soul – is lending a helping hand. But whose is this ‘kidnapped’ child? While attempting to find a solution, the two women, who have grown used to remaining unnoticed, experience a period of happiness.
