One day in five different pubs in the Italian, French and German-speaking parts of Switzerland: Innkeepers, regulars and passersby. A single day turns subtly into a whole year. Director Eric Bergkraut takes us on a journey across Switzerland: Starting at Zurich Main Station, we travel to various places (still) resisting the enforced norms of globalisation: Next to the outskirts of Zurich, where due to a loophole in the zoning plan, hospitality is on offer between homes for asylum seekers and drive-in sex booths, then it’s off to Val de Travers, where absinth is still revered as if it really were a green fairy; we continue to Biasca, cast aside years ago by the motorway; this small village is still very much alive.
