Roman Polanski was the centre of controversy at the 2009 Zurich Film Festival, when the Polish director was invited as a guest of honour to collect a Golden Eye for his life’s work. The story is well known: Polanski was arrested in Zurich, although eventually not extradited to the USA by the Swiss authorities.
