Mikey never misses an opportunity to show off his five AVN Awards, the Oscars of the porn industry. But his days of success are long gone and Mikey is back in Texas City with no prospects, just that bleak place he left shortly after high school with his then-girlfriend Lexi to shoot porn and make money in Los Angeles some 20 years ago. Neither relationship nor career have remained, and the disillusioned Mikey is left realising that he is anything but welcome in his hometown. After THE FLORIDA PROJECT, director Sean Baker once again dives into the white trash milieu of the USA. As usual, he stages the story of a porn star washed-up onto the fringes of society who attempts to keep his head above water with shady antics.
