Primary teacher Sergio begins teaching at a new school. The children of Jose Urbina Lopez are among the worst performing students in the whole of Mexico. They grow up without parents in great poverty and the teachers' disciplinary measures are short lived. Although Sergio has no idea what he's doing, he wants to try something different to awaken the joys of education in the children and thus offer them a better future. Inspired by true events, filmmaker Christopher Zalla tells the inspiring story of an unconventional teacher – played by the great Mexican actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez. A feel-good movie that shows how important and formative a teacher can be.
