The French astronaut Sarah was selected as the only woman to go on a one-year mission to the International Space Station. While struggling with the gruelling preparations and a misogynistic environment at the training centre in Cologne, she is also doing her best to find enough time for her 7-year-old daughter, Stella, and meet her own demands as a mother. As the rocket launch and the impending separation draw nearer, Sarah is in danger of being torn between maternal concern and devotion to her job.
