Once the King of Rock and Roll, Presley has captured the spirit of a time and the heart’s of Americans like no other. Filmmaker Eugene Jarecki sets off in Presley’s original 1963 Rolls Royce on a road trip across the states. Companions, musicians and Elvis fans climb in and out as this car journeys through the past of an exceptionally talented star, whose rise and fall became the symbol of a whole nation. Set against the events of the 2016 election, Jarecki sets off on a beautiful journey in search of the fading American dream in a film underscored by a country and rhythm & blues soundtrack and packed with fascinating questions and surprising encounters.
