The days of getting our news fix from the big daily papers are seemingly numbered. Online news portals and blogs pose a constant threat to classic print journalism, and advertising income is on the decrease. Closures, restructuring and redundancies help to create an uncertain working environment in these traditional newsrooms. In PAGE ONE Andrew Rossi takes us with him into the New York Times editorial office. How can this old-school newspaper weather the new media storm? How can it adjust to the changing landscape? In this film we encounter ‘new’ journalists such as the blogger Brian Stelter, whom the newspaper discovered via his personal blog, alongside traditional journalists such as the charismatic columnist David Carr, who defends the worth of the daily newspaper with humour and wit.
