Of all places, it is a slaughterhouse in Budapest that serves as the setting for this strangely beautiful love story: Mária is a shy young woman who has just started working as a quality controller. Slightly older Endre, chief financial officer at the abbatoir, is also the quiet type. Tentatively, they begin to get to know each other. Recognising their spiritual kinship, they are amazed to discover that they even have the same dreams at night. Carefully, they attempt to make them come true. With sensitivity and subtle humour, Ildikó Enyedi portrays the coming together of two outsiders who, initially apart and eventually together, discover the realm of emotion and physical desire.
