It’s a cold winter’s day and police officer Sergey Sobolev is on his way to the hospital, where his wife is about to give birth. His dangerous way of driving and the icy country roads lead to disastrous consequences: Sobolev knocks down a boy who dies on the spot. Instead of calling the ambulance or stopping to help the shocked mother, Sobolev summons his colleagues to the accident scene and the police officers decide to protect their workmate and shove the blame of the child’s death onto the helpless mother. When Sobolev becomes aware of the fatal consequences of his decision it is too late – the spiral of violence is already unstoppable.
