Leonard Bernstein was a humanitarian, husband, father and one of the greatest musical masters of our time. His numerous compositions still captivate us today with their formal diversity, and the passion for music with which Bernstein appeared before orchestras was unparalleled. But as with many geniuses, the life of the conductor and composer is crumbling behind the façade. Despite being homosexual, Bernstein spends his life at the side of a woman in a relationship that repeatedly puts the love between the two to the test. The eventful life of the "West Side Story" creator is brought to the big screen by director and leading actor Bradley Cooper, who embodies Bernstein alongside Carey Mulligan in an Oscar-worthy manner. As in 2018 with A STAR IS BORN, Cooper has succeeded in making MAESTRO one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year.
