Ramasan looks after his sisters, does the daily shopping and helps his mother as a translator. Following the death of his father in the war, he is now considered by Chechen tradition to be the man of the house, but this also means that the eleven year old has a lot more responsibilities. Ramasan’s family lives hoping for asylum in the Mocando refugee settlement on the outskirts of Vienna. The boy’s small world opens up when Isa, his new neighbor, presents himself as a former wartime comrade of his father. The mysterious man gives away very little about his past, but kindles a desire in Ramasan to find out more about his dead parent. Equally curious and suspicious, he slowly forms a friendship with Isa.
