It could be stated that LORO is a brilliantly crafted cinematic biography about Silvio Berlusconi. However, this film is anything but a classic biopic. It certainly is not the biography of a politician. LORO is kind at times, and malicious at other times. It circles around a character, his fellow human beings and those who want to be like him. It tackles issues such as ambition, (spurned) love, business acumen and decadence. It is about details. It is about events. Most of all it is about life’s little stories. It is about an Italian, or rather, an Italian who became a worldwide phenomenon. Mostly satirical, sometimes serious and always extremely entertaining, Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino leads us into the emotional world of every Berlusconi.
